Popular Post stevewool Posted August 23 Popular Post Posted August 23 Well I have been informed of a pending visit to our home here in the UK this coming November and they will be staying here for 2 weeks then 1 week in London and I’m not happy about this , yes I’m pleased that Emma will see her sister but her drunken lazy Husband is not my cup of tea at all and he knows it , infact many years ago we have had words about his attitude to Emma and I don’t forget but it seems if something is going free many Filipinos seem to forget about things and move on . They have not applied for there visa yet but then again for the last 2 plus years they have been trying to get a visa to the USA to work and that has not happened yet so here’s hoping it’s just another pip dream of there’s to visit different places , if they do succeed in the visa for here I hope this November we have very early snow storms and bad freezing weather 9

They expect to be housed, fed and entertained during their visit. By the way, your relatives will also want pick-up service from the airport. While living as a student in Los Angeles, the first request from visiting relatives was a trip to Disneyland. The second was Las Vegas. My strategy was to make it more convenient for me. Yes, to the Disneyland request, but they have to be there at opening or no more tickets. Add 2 hours' drive time. We agreed on the return meeting place and time. If they failed to show up within a 30-minute time period, they would have to hire a taxi. (Mobile phones were not yet invented.) Never at the entrance or they might expect me to pay for the admission fees. For Las Vegas, the drive was late afternoon when it was cooler. We would arrive there before 10:00 pm. They could gamble until 4:00 am when it was time to go back to Los Angeles. I slept in the car while they gambled. They slept on the drive back. I understand your car is not in the best condition. Suggest that your relatives hire a private car from the airport. We just did that from Heathrow to Southampton and the cost was 125 pounds. Listen to them complain for years to come about exorbitant British prices. I heard you stopped drinking until your health recovers and are currently trying a vegan diet. No alcohol in the pantry, which means your drunken brother-in-law will have to go to a nearby pub by himself. Your back hurts, so no drive/visits to nearby tourist attractions. Let Emma enjoy her sister's company but encourage her to take her to a nearby teahouse. 5

This part of the family are in Abu Dhabi and have been there for years , she is a nurse , not to sure what he does , he use to work on the cruise ships but since I married Emma he has never held a job for long , I hear from Ems what there future plans are and they have been buying a farm in the Philippines and grown all the fruit , then buying a haulage firm again in the Philippines , a water station in the Philippines but none of these happened, so for the last year or so she has been looking at working in the USA as a nurse , I do wish them well but will it happen who knows , not my concern

Yes Jack , it’s very difficult for me to forget the past but out of sight out of mind helps , but I do have to think of Emma and the end of the day it’s her family and not mine 5

This is one reason I tend to avoid the expats in Duamagette,a noticed on my last visit some nastiness & bitterness from some of them to newcomers , especially if you don't share their ideas Many a generation older then me ,invited me to their bible meeting which I'm not into I left one cafe when the old American expats (70's) started telling me their views on gay people, immigrants and a whole lot of other conspiracies I always find that generation the 70yo plus the most bitter and tend to avoid them, angry at life I remember back in 2022 in Duamagette going to met expats in a cafe and another new visitor had arrived from the UK and you could see clearly he was gay by his feminine personality but he was very friendly and happy ,seemed to be with a younger Filipino guy maybe his partner who knows ,who cares An old Duamagette expat said to me "He won't be sitting with us ! "Who knows what disease they have ? I knew immediately what a nasty crew these old guys were and excused myself and went over to the new visitor from the UK and welcomed him ,then I left Sorry I'm not into right wing bible stuff nor to be nasty and bitter because someone is different from you or holds different views or acts differently etc ,or is a different race , take people as they are Being 62yo...Im hoping to be retire to Duamagette soon but I will avoid that next generation 70yo plus guys I will end up buying a gym in Duamagette where everyone will be welcome regardless of your race , sexuality, politics ,gender etc There will be a sign up as your entering the gym to leave your nastiness , negativity and bitterness at the gym door 🚪 If your 70yo plus leave your bitter and nasty views at home it won't be welcome in my gym Edited August 25 by Georgebob 1 1
