THIS is the astonishing moment China’s 36-lane highway is brought to a standstill as 10 million cars headed home after a national holiday.

The Wuzhuang toll station is the largest in China and consists of 36 lanes.

Video shows endless lines of red light filling the lanes before converging into just FOUR at the toll booths.

According to authorities, roughly 120,000 vehicles passed that day.

The unusually long queues were caused by millions of locals returning home after a national holiday, which spans across eight days from October 1 to October 8.

Meanwhile, according to Guinness World Records, the longest traffic jam in history occurred in France on February 16, 1980, stretching 176 kilometers from Lyon to Paris, which is roughly the same distance from Manila to Nueva Ecija or Atimonan, Quezon.

In terms of vehicle count, the record goes to the East-West German border, where 18 million cars were reported stuck on April 12, 1990.

36 lanes that converge to four toll booths.  The highway engineers are still LTAO.

This is fake news! Clearly it's typical I-405 rush hour.

Bangkok used to suffer daily gridlock before the road system was improved.  I knew someone who had a portable chemical toilet in his van and a cooler with food and drinks for the daily commute.  One time the traffic delay was so long cars were running out gas contributing to increased gridlock.

A close friend of mine who owned his company, lived in Alabang, his office was in Ortigas and the manufacturing facility in Bulacan.  The daily commute was 6 or 7 hours.  I suggested getting a Type 2 RV similar to mine and oxygen tank to help fight the air pollution.  He learned taking brief naps and is much happier.  The RV conversion was done in the Philippines.

Sometimes in Moalboal I have to slow down at a couple of the intersections. :whistling:

How much do you have to slow down when driving a maximum speed tiny cart that doesn't exceed 15 mph?:hystery:

I call it rush hour on Boracay when I'm stuck at Dmall for anything over 10 seconds. Living in a city with traffic would end me now.

Sometimes when going to the far end of the island I take the back road as it takes me about 15 minutes as opposed to 15 minutes and about 20 seconds.
