I don't use those cards here but use caution with Fidelity.  If they think you are living in PH permanently they might restrict your accounts.  That is based on my knowledge of U.S. Fidelity.

Look for the Bancnet sign at the ATM of whatever bank's machine you use, never had a problem using a foreign bank's card with them. Bancnet is the internet network that connect domestic and foreign banks in the Philippines. Assuming you notified the bank you will be traveling [if you don't travel much normally] and the ATM has a functioning internet connection and cash. I have had my card returned as not being able to be processed at one BDO ATM only to walk down the hall to another BDO ATM and have it go thru with no issue.

I've generally heard good things about Wise, although no specific experience in Vietnam (plenty of other SE Asian countries though).

I've never had a problem using Wise however it's treated as a foreign card so local ATM fees are generally higher.

I have a Wise card from UK. Easy to add money to from ny HSBC Expat account, easy to add Gcash recipients and easy to use as a debit/cash card all over.. so far UK Spain, HK , Philippines and Indonesia. Works perfectly every time, though if you make payments over a certain amount a few times it will ask you to put PIN code in .For me , its way easier than standards credit cards etc

I have my 'Philippines based' Wise debit card with me on my holiday here in the UK at the moment.

Must try it out sometime. Just that I hate spending money. :mocking:

edit to add: My GCash and BDO cards have been working fine.
