Think so.  It is near Yap now.

Sort of been following it since the early tracking showed where it may hit.  If you go directly west from Cebu City to the east coast of Negros, that's where we are.  Where we are, Cebu island tends to block most the worst of any bad weather.  Fingers crossed this time.

The mayor here called an emergency meeting about it yesterday . As Barangay  captain MIL has to attend. First on the agenda - closing schools on Tuesday and Wednesday as the typhoon is expected to make landfall Monday PM. Time to batten down the hatches I guess. Already keep food and plenty of drinking water stocked up.

If there is still time, I would buy one-gallon heavy plastic, freezer Ziploc bags to store important paperwork including passports.  Likewise paper currency because the ATMs won't work if there is no electricity.  Place them in a "bug-off" bag along with dry food, water bottles, medications and a flashlight.  This is precautionary in case you are suddenly forced to evacuate.  If you have vehicles, make sure that the tanks are full.

The projected path looks eerily similar to the path of the super typhoon Odette that hit Cebu in December 2021.  Moalboal was directly in the path of the eye and got hit from winds in both directions.   It was when the wind flipped direction and came in off the ocean that really hurt us.  Might board up a couple windows depending on what the path looks on Monday.

Yeah, Odette did a lot of damage here too for the same reason - double hit plus its strength.  Power was down for a month or so.  I was still in Australia at the time, AM moved to San Carlos (Negros Occidental version) for the month.

Our house had some superficial damage, but a lot of places were pretty bad.

We have a typhoon kit and our living room and the adjacent bathroom are hardened, more by accident than design - Hollow block walls, cement ceiling (upstairs floor), one small window only.  We're on a small hill and the house has never been hit by storm surge in the 20 years it's been here.

We have boards made to measure for the windows so we just put them up and chock them in.

I've got water and canned food for a week. Hope it will not be needed.

One bottle of Redhorse as well!
