MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday took to social media to respond to the cry for help of a minor in Camarines Sur to end the supposed abuses of a village official.

An 11-year-old girl last March 30 posted a letter addressed to Marcos on the Facebook page of Redeemer Homeless Mission and sought his help to hold accountable an abusive “kagawad” or councilor.

She narrated how the son and aide of the village official allegedly raped and impregnated one of her friends in November 2022 and February 2023.

“As a child, I have watched this Kagawad threaten us, cut and steal our electrical wires so we have no electricity, and cut and steal the wires to our balon (well) so we have no water,” she wrote.

“Many of the families here stay in survival mode because government people make life very difficult,” she added.

She also shared her fear of not having a bright future because of the impunity of the elected officials who were supposed to serve and protect them.

“Question, Mr. President: How will we read if we are being raped? How will we read if our own government people cut our electrical wire so we have no lights?” she asked.

“We are kids, we are not involved in your political parties. I just want to go to school without being raped. So, can you please help us?” she added.

Marcos, who shared the letter that brought him close to tears and made him “very angry” in the comments, vowed to send help right away.

“I am sending policemen to you and your sisters to protect you and to find anyone who has hurt any of you. I will make sure that you will be able to continue reading and studying as much as you want,” the chief executive said.

“You are a very brave, intelligent and very kind girl and I will make sure to help you and your sisters in any way you need,” he added.

The Palace has yet to confirm or release details if Marcos’ order had already been carried out.

More to this story perhaps.

Snip.

The girl, one of the homeless kids living in a non-profit organization in Tinambac, Camarines Sur, wrote a letter to the President on March 30, urging the Philippines’ highest official to stop the impunity of a barangay kagawad in their village.

In her letter, the 11-year old told the President that the unnamed kagawad’s son and aide raped one of her peers in November 2022 and February 2023.

“She got pregnant from the first rape and the kagawad kidnapped her, and sent her to Montalban and had the baby aborted and murdered,” the letter to the President read.

“Then the tauhan they sent with her raped her again and she now no longer wants to go to school.”

The 11-year-old added that she has also seen the village official “threaten us, cut and steal electrical wires… set grass fires to kill us, put nails in our tires, destroy our coconut plants and steal our tanim.”

Redeemer Homeless Mission — the organization looking after the 11-year-old and 28 other homeless children — posted the 2-page letter on their social media page.

The young lady that made an appeal to the president for help is on a prayer walk hoping to affect changes in her community.

I was not familiar with your use of the word woodchipper in this context but a quick look at Google soon fixed that right up. LOL

This is really heartbreaking to read. That child showed more courage than many adults. I just hope real action is taken and those responsible are held accountable.

Well, if the 11 year old says so then he must be guilty on all counts.  11 year olds understand everything, never lie, never exaggerate, and never repeat (as fact) whatever gossip they heard from some other girl.

The allegations should definitely be investigated.  Where there is smoke there is fire, but its not usually a towering inferno of fire.

PNP deploys team to probe abuse allegations vs CamSur local exec, sons

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed a team to investigate a student’s claims that her sisters were sexually abused at the hands of a Tinambac, Camarines Sur barangay kagawad (councilor) and his sons.

In a statement on Wednesday, PNP chief, Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. detailed that he ordered a specialized team from the Women and Children Protection Center to handle the case.

“Investigators are now gathering evidence to determine appropriate criminal charges against the accused kagawad,” Nartatez said.

“We will not let this pass and we are now coordinating with the DILG in the conduct of a thorough investigation,” he stressed.

The student’s claims gained traction after she posted an open letter to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and walked out of her graduation ceremony on Monday to submit a petition to the Tinambac government to remove the implicated kagawad.

Authorities find girl who sought Marcos’ help vs village councilor

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have located the 11-year-old girl from Camarines Sur who wrote to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. seeking help against an abusive village official, Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian said Wednesday.

Gatchalian said he met with the girl and the head of the Redeemer Homeless Mission, the nonprofit currently caring for her and other homeless children.

She recounted how her peer, reportedly a child with special needs, “got pregnant from the first rape” and how the village councilor “kidnapped” her and took her to Montalban for an abortion.

Got to get the photo opportunity in.

Pathetic.

Perhaps the locals will take something seriously one day.

Then again, there are young girls being abused in this way by certain elements of (mainly muslim immigrant) society in my home country.  Proper investigation, and subsequent punishment of such abusive animals would go a long way to stopping this.
