@OnMyWay Don, keep us posted, and hope all goes well and you are back on your feet again ASAP, relatively pain-free

Good luck with the surgery.

Just be aware the surgery can have certain side effects, like long hair and bright colored clothes and driving VW mini buses... it's a hippy thing :whistling:

I asked my doctor for a video copy of my first colonoscopy to share with the family.  He said the request was a pretty standard joke in his profession.  He does 2 to 5 procedures per day.

When last I had the procedure, before the anesthesia knock out, the doc (at St. Lukes, Manila) told me to look at the monitor - "It's like National Geographic!" I swear that he actually said that... I demurred. I am really not into looking up my own or anyone else's a****le!

Keep reminding yourself that the reason you are willing to undergo a surgical procedure is to physically improve.  The temporary discomfort will likely result in a better outcome.

So true as my brother suffered severely during recovery from new knee.

Yes, a friend of mine in Australia (a retired Ambulance driver/EMT) had both knees done last year (stuffed from years of lifting patients) and he had substantial pain for a longer time than even he expected.

Made me think twice about getting my right knee done, I'm going to get more Xrays done and see if it's ok to extend replacement for a couple of more years.

Evidently there can be complications if you leave a knee replacement too long so that's also a factor to be considered.

My left knee is better but that wasn't squashed between a car and a motorbike at 60 kph (35 mph) 40 years ago.

Doctor says right knee (and hip) have impact related arthritis.
