OK folks here is a two month actual budget for 2 people ...... now a little back ground ..... the 40,000p is a figure I use for budgeting only just a guide to see if we can keep it under $1000 US ..... proving that you can live in the Phils for a lot less than any where else ...... also we do not drink or smoke and don't go out to clubs etc. ....... we eat mostly Filipino foods but I do like my meat so chicken ..pork ... fish and beef are not skipped ...... however steak is out of the question ..... to expensive and not very good ...... I do buy some American brands of food but not much ..... Julie is an excellent cook so I enjoy the native foods (after all that is why I moved here ..... well one of the reasons SugarwareZ-011.gif ) ....We live in a 1 bedroom unfurnished apartment in a secure compound about 6 mins. from Osmena Circle and that is with Cebu traffic ....... I have cable TV ... DSL .... aircon .... hot water and all other amenities ...... but have noticed as time goes on we don't need the aircon and this month will be the first time we have not used it at all ....... please note a drop in electric cost for Aug. .......... also food costs have dropped due to us finding a wet market with in walking distance of the apartment ...... we go to the local malls at least 2-3 times a week to browse around and buy some junk food .....Now this is just what we do ........ your needs and desires may vary greatly from ours ...... adding night life .. smoking and drinks will add greatly to your budget as will eating out in restaurants ....... so plan accordinglyAny way it will give you an idea what can be done if you want to .......... 9/3/2008 Page 1 Monthly Income and Expenses 7/1/2008 Through 7/31/2008 Subcategory ------------------------TotalIncomeRetirement Income----------------- 40,000.00 Total Income--------------------- 40,000.00 Expenses Bills Electricity -------------------------- 2,487.45 Online/Internet Service ------------- 1,210.00 Rent -------------------------------7,620.00 Telephone ------------------------- 1,523.34 ------ next month DSL and telephone includedWater -------------------------------120.00 ------- bottled 5 gal. Billie ....... if you went on up V. Rama to the corner of V. Rama and M. Velez it is right across the street on the left hand corner ........ it is the same road that goes to the Guadalupe Church ... market is small ..... but man ... they have some of the best fresh fish I have ever eaten ....... also fruits .... veggies and meats .... Julie takes a pedicab (they won't take me) to the corner and then a jeepney to the market ....... she's back in about 20 mins. ....... Hey Lee .... it don't cost a lot for a king size sheet ....... hey ... those Romans weren't so dumb after all ...... and it never gets dirty ... just turn it inside out ..... actual I have two ..... one for the house and one to wear when I go out ..... just have to watch it when I go up the escalators ...... I get some dirty looks from the foreigners (dirty ol' buggers) that sit under the escalators looking up the dresses of the pretty young girls going up ....... sometime get Billie to show you his favort chair ... they actual put his name on it as he spent so much time there ......
