Below is another news excerpt I just read on another forum and would like to make everyone aware of it and hope that it would motivate everyone to write their legistlators up in Capital Hill, service organizations, forums, blogs or whatever else you are members of to get the word out and hopelfuly maybe get their attention up in Capital Hill and that something can be done about it in the near future, like tomorrow! Yeah, fat chance of that, but we'll never know if we don't get the word out to them, especially to our President! Recent News Excerpt, but don't have the link availableChanges Afoot for Retiree HealthcareMembers Encouraged to Contact LawmakersCongress is currently reviewing proposals which would affect military retirees' health care. Pharmacy use, TRICARE and even US Family Health Plan will have changes in their enrollment ages, qualifications, or fees if the cost-cutters have their way. AMRA eNEWS subscribers were alerted last week to contact lawmakers about increases in TRICARE and changes to their pharmacy benefit. According to a May 6th American Forces Press Release, $3.2 billion is expected to be saved by such measures as: - Cutting more than 700 civilian contractors from the TRICARE staff. - A maximum $5 per month increase for working-age military retirees under 65- Raising the co-payments for prescription drugs- Eliminating special subsidies for community hospitals that serve beneficiaries - Incentives for allowing the department to prescribe generic drugs- Limiting prescription delivery to mail, then imposing fees on pharmacy visits - Forcing Medicare-eligible enrollees of U.S. Family Health Plan to participate in MedicareEveryone should write to their prospective district's Congressman or woman and remember to add these 3 links below someone kindly provided as an example of what's being done to us all overseas! Your individual letters and these 3 links below should be enough to get their attention of every Tom, Dick and Mary up in Capitol Hill, especially the President in his oval office!Everyone should keep a copy of these 3 links to remind us constantly of the unfair treatment we are all facing overseas! Our U.S. counterparts doesn't seem to have the same problems, because WPS/TMA doesn't impose double standards on them as they do on to us retirees in the Philippines! If these 3 links alone doesn't upset everyone, I don't know what will! It should give one and all a just cause and motivation to write your congressman or woman so that something can be done before we all die in our death beds financially broke due to TRICARE's neglect in not providing the adequate health care that we all deserve in the Philippines and other overseas countries in our particular situation! The Military Swindlehttp://www.youtube.c...h?v=Sn9lB8J_M44Law Suit Against the U.S. Government that crashed and burned!http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4c1JZ9vGjxoLetter sent to NAUS telling of our TRICARE problemshttp://dl.dropbox.co...6/LtrtoNAUS.pdf

Thank you Art for the alarming news about US government trying to cut healthcare benefits for the veterans. One quickly forgets that some of us paid in blood. The surviving families of deceased and wounded warriorswill continue to suffer because the fat cats in Washington are unpatriotic mofo's.Jake

It never ceases to amaze me when vets, a group in which I belong, are surprised when the military powers that be don't do what they say. It's as clear as a bell in my mind back to the days in boot camp hearing the tales of woe. "My recruiter lied to me" " they told me I was gonna be an officer". They should have said you'll have benefits as long as we have money and don't owe the whole country to China. WAKE UP GUYS!!! The Uited States of America is broke. BROKE BROKE BROKE. NO MORE MONEY HIDDEN IN THE COOKIE JAR. bUSTED. OUT OF DOUGH. Soon there will be more cuts. When the welfare checks, food stamps, free health care to every tom , dick and wetback that wants, food stamps, free lunches, breakfast and snacks at school, etc. etc, et all stop there will be rioting in the streets much like, only more violent, than in the wonderful socialist countries of europe. My suggestion is to get ready. Prepare for bad times. thet are coming as sure as I'm sitting here.

Some more on this HERE, So they stole or squandered the money and those who served may have to suffer. What planet am I on, it sure does not seem like earth and this sure does not feel the the USA. Lawmakers open to changes in military benefits WASHINGTON (AP) -- The government's promise of lifetime health care for the military's men and women is suddenly a little less sacrosanct as Congress looks to slash trillion-dollar-plus deficits. Republicans and Democrats alike are signaling a willingness - unheard of at the height of two post-Sept. 11 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - to make military retirees pay more for coverage. It's a reflection of Washington's newfound embrace of fiscal austerity and the Pentagon's push to cut health care costs that have skyrocketed from $19 billion in 2001 to $53 billion. The numbers are daunting for a military focused on building and arming an all-volunteer force for war. The Pentagon is providing health care coverage for 3.3 million active duty personnel and their dependents and 5.5 million retirees, eligible dependents and surviving spouses. Retirees outnumber the active duty, 2.3 million to 1.4 million. Combined with the billions in retirement pay, it's no surprise that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta recently said personnel costs have put the Pentagon "on an unsustainable course."
