Back From The Dead!!!

Hello to you all! Ha the bad penny is back!!! and you thought you could get rid of me!!! No chance!!!! I'mmmmmm Baaaaaaack!!!!! Good to be back, I still don't have internet at home, but at least I am working on it. I am still working in the same place in Clark Freeport and still enjoying it as I did the first week! Things are slowly improving, paying off the debts and even saving a little for our First Wedding Ann. coming up Sept 8th Many thanks to all of you who have been sending me txts and e-mails, checking to make sure I hadn't jumped off any bridges, or left the gas on! Ha as if I could afford to do that! We have found a great 2 bed semi detached house just outside of Hensonville Plaza, at less than have the price I was paying in Pasig, and it is larger. The electric is about 1/3 what is was in Pasig as well, but that probably has more to do with the fact that we don't have any A/C!! And I'm getting used to not having it as well... (I am starting to go native) It took about 4 weeks and 6 millions cans of Baycon to get rid of the army of ants and villages of coack roaches that had settled in, but I think we are there! I know where they hide now and every pay day you can see an army of coachroaches vacating our house for fear of having to face the "Killer with the Cans" It will take me some time to catch up with everything and everyone, and I will only be able to go online for an hour or so 4 or 5 days a week, but he, maybe that is better than the sad old guy I was with no friends sitting and typing on the Forum for hours when I had the internet. Ellie and Chiya are great!!! Especially Chiya, she learns a new facial expression each day! along with a new sound (word to her I am sure). She is crawling by herself, standing by herself, and still unfortunately pooping just as much! (I am sure it did not cost me as much on diapers in my previous lives, oh but then again they were cloth, we didn't have disposable diapers back then) Ha ha I could go on, but must get home. Just wanted to say Hi and thanks to all who have kept in touch. Papa Carl

Thanks for the update Carl and it is good to see you back on the forum with your usual humorous posting style :unsure: and good to hear all is going good for you all now. Great to hear Ellie and Chiya are doing great as well, but you do disappoint me, I thought you would be using cloth diapers and Ellie would have left them all for you to hand wash when you got home from a hard days/nights work. :89: Think of how much money you would save. lol As for the roaches and ants, see if they sell boric acid there and mix it one part to ten parts sugar into a paste and put it in bottle caps or bowls and keep it wet daily and leave those caps around where Chiya or pets will not get near them, and the ants will eat it and take it back to their nest and that will wipe out the whole army, and the roaches will eat it and just die. That is what we do in our condo in Cebu and I also spread around the boric acid straight, up in the pipe chases, and that way roaches get it on their feet and then clean their feet and die. Also I have found that Hotshot Maxattrax ant and roach feeding baits work fantastic to get rid of those creepy crawly critters and are less work because all you do is put them around and they do the work for you. When we got back from the Philippines, we had an army of ants in our bathroom here in Florida and I put some of those baits up and watched the ants march to them and each day they marched a little slower, :lol: until they were barely moving, it was sort of like slow motion :lol: and then in a week they were totally gone and have not been back for months now. Say hi to Ellie for us and we look forward to hearing more about your adventures and work, since there are a lot of guys who would love to have jobs in the Philippines to supplement their income, or just for an income, so the more of you guys who make it there that way, the more hope it gives others. Hi Papa Carl :-) Welcome back on line. Just wanted to ask Papa Lee if he can post a pic of the boric acid product that is available in Philippines and where he buys it. I read that only certain kinds of boric product are effective and I want to be sure I get the right stuff. By the way, I use mothballs to keep the cockroaches away. Gotta keep them away from kids and pets and be careful not to use too many where you are sleeping (or you will get a head ache). It seems to work, seldom see a cockroach, but I never see an alligator here either so maybe it keeps them away too :-)

Well since this topic is back from the dead and in the off topic section, then I guess it is sort of on topic making sure ants do not come back from the dead. :13_4_10[1]: So with no disrespect to Papa Carl and not trying to hijack his thread, but to try to answer Dave, I am not in Cebu right now, so I do not have the item or a photo of it with me, but we had a thread about it HERE that has some of the answers and you can search the online sites such as Sulit and often find Borax or Boric Acid sold, and if all else fails and you are not overrun at the present time, then I would be happy to bring some back for those who would like some when we get back in February since nowadays I bring it over from the states because it is easier to find here. When I did buy Borax in Cebu, I found it downtown and at hardware stores where welding supplies were sold but I do not remember the store name and we all know that there is no constant in the Philippines, so what was there, may no longer be there, or may be in stock again in the future. So hopefully once we all start using this mixture, then none of those little buggers will ever come back from the dead. :)

Hi guys, thanks for the greetings! Having not used this new.... what ever you call it... skin, membrane, etc etc. I do hope I am replying correctly and that you all receive this. I would put down the Boric Acid if Chiya was not here, but as she is and even though I am confident she would not find or reach it, I still do not want to take any chances. So it is the cans and I doing the work for now, if that doesn't work we will create a game with Chiya to see how many she can run over in her walker, combined with me and an over sized fly swatter we should put a dent in these nightmare monsters!!!Yes it does feel good to be back and posting again, and I will be happy when I get my internet connection back so that I can post some more pictures of the Killing machine at work!Ha in regards to the cloth diapers..... after work I can think of better things to do that get my hands in a bucket of sh---y water thanks!!! And please.... don't give any ideas to Ellie on how to save money like this... She may just try!!!!I can still remember washing dirty diapers when I was a kid back in Canada, my Mum thought is was great, fill up a wading pool and wait until I am in it, then through in the dirty diapers, ..... let Carl clean them! He is the one who made them dirty in the first place!!! Ha no, she didn't really do that, but she did want my big sister to help her wash the diapers.... Hello my friend, It's great to hear you are finally settling down at your new location. I know it's often times frustrating waitingfor a land line for DSL connection. Perhaps you could "donate" to motivate certain techs to come out andtake care of you first. It worked for my wife Judy and she got connected the first week upon arrival. Congrats on your upcoming 1st anniversary. Just find a trusted babysitter and check in for 24 hrs at a nearbyhotel, sorta like a mini-honeymoon. You both deserve it! Respectfully -- Jake

Hi Jake, thanks, believe me I have tried everything to get a connection. You would think I was asking for something hard to get! The people next to me have it so I don't know what the problem is!!! Oh well, I guess I will save a little money for another month!!Definitely will be taking Ellie for a night out and staying in a hotel,.... With all the support I have had I can only offer an open invitation to one and all, the house is humble, but you will get your own room and the company and food is the best!!!! And if that won't do, well there is always the famous bar crawl in Angeles!!! Ha
