Popular Post Jack Peterson Posted November 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2014 As with most of the region, ( I suspect) Dumaguete is on it's 2nd bad day of rain.[ Well up here at the foot of the mountain anyway] I text my fried in Dalguete early this morning,he told me he was under 4 inches of water in the house he asked for Buckets. Now many will say this is not Funny, Of course it is not Funny but... what else can we do but Smile. so Kev, some buckets for you. Now my 2 dogs really do have a Dogs life, it seems no matter what prevails Weather wise, they will still find time to Sleep and/or just rest On a more serious note and a big thing I learned from My Wife and many Friends. Elevation of a House is Important around many areas, especially near sea level. I never really wanted to live in a mansion but the 1 meter Elevation makes it look like a Hollywood Actors Mini palace. again I am now so Glad we took that Road. All to many times we hear of Flooding and the Damage it can do, so i thought I would just post a couple of Photos to show the elevation and how we escape flooding. The garden Looks a mess and waterlogged but Hey Ho we needed the rain  MORAL; if you live on a high Water table Area low level Ground near water, Elevate the house.especially if you are on even a slight hilly area It will pay Dividends. and may well Stop this sort of thing happening to you. Morning All. JP
jon1 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 At least the storm is moving quick and should be out of the area tomorrow. http://www.usno.navy.mil/NOOC/nmfc-ph/RSS/jtwc/warnings/wp2114.gif I am hoping that we catch some of the feeder bands as it hasn't really rained in a month here.
