Moving soon and looking for fun

Hi guys

So my husband and i alongwith our daughter will be soon moving to Manila as expats. We are from Pakistan and i enjoy a good social life here. Moving to another country and leaving a lifestyle behind is a big choice to make. I am very apprehensive. How do i find people to socialise with? Maybe go out catch a few drinks or invite over or get invited :) any help would do

What age bracket are you in? 

What social types do you normally choose as friends like if you should happen to be say 25 it's no point suggesting meet with the 75 year old expats for a game of cards.

It should be very easy. Join clubs, professional organizations, etc. If you enjoy Yoga, there should be studio near you. Tennis? Bridge? Photography? It all depends on your interest.

Your daughter's school is another good way to meet parents of a similar age and background. Another is through the Embassy of Pakistan. The embassy will have a cultural attache who is constantly searching for volunteers. Manila is an international city and there is an active community from Pakistan. At the very least, they can help in sourcing ingredients and spices from home that you will need for cooking.

Hi Munyba,  Maybe you could look online too for sites that cater to expats who live and work exclusively in the Manila area. A big metropolis like Manila must have so many different foreigners/expats looking for a social life there. Best wishes on your move.
