Mr Lee Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) So sad. :(Sunday, December 18, 2011CEBU CITY (Updated) -- Police said an Australian national shot and killed his Filipina girlfriend, a noted fashion designer in Cebu, before turning the gun on himself late Saturday evening.Investigators said Joy Bernaldez, 52, was shot in the head by her Australian boyfriend Joseph Cardona, 53, Saturday evening in her home in Cabangcalan village in Mandaue City.Cardona was found dead in the garage. Police theorized the Australian national shot himself in the mouth with the same hand gun he used to kill Bernaldez.Police found a .22-caliber pistol at the crime scene.Investigation showed the couple had violent quarrels over the past days.Bernaldez owned J. Mr Lee Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Threat to have boyfriend deported could have triggered attack’CEBU fashion designer Joy Bernaldez had threatened to file charges against her partner Joseph Cardona and to have him deported for injuring her a few weeks ago.Police said that Bernaldez’s threats must have angered Cardona, whom police confirmed was a Maltese national and not an Australian as earlier reported.The threat to deport him could have led to the Dec. 17 fatal attack on the fashion designer, said Insp.
