Good news, the child was rescued. Weird that even the news cannot get male and female correct. Members of the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response, backed by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, rescued a four-year-old American boy and arrested five of his abductors in Sorsogon, National Police spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. said on Friday.Joseph Monk was rescued during a raid of the kidnap group’s hideout last December 14 around 1:30 p.m., Cruz said.Pacer head Senior Supt. Isagani Nerez said three of the alleged kidnappers were arrested in Sorsogon. The two other kidnap gang suspects were arrested in separate operations in Paranaque City and Muntinlupa City on December 15.Monk was with her mother on board their vehicle in the evening of December 6 when a car blocked their way with three armed men on board and took the boy at gunpoint.Nerez said the boy was taken to Sorsogon while two of the suspects negotiated with the Monks. The kidnappers first demanded P10 million ransom, lowered it to P5 million and then settled for P600,000.On Dec. 9, the payoff was made between the kidnappers and the Monks but the boy was not released because the kidnappers asked for additional P5 million, Cruz said.http://www.manilastandardtoday.com/insideNation.htm?f=2011/december/17/nation2.isx&d=2011/december/17
