Popular Post sonjack2847 Posted May 7, 2012 Popular Post Posted May 7, 2012 I woke up this day at 2am and to use the toilet. I found we had no water, I thought well at least they are working on it at night and it should be ok by morning. Well I could not get back to sleep so stayed up. Later we left to go swimming still no water but I thought it will be back on when we return. At swimming I swam 1/2 a Kilometer and thought best stop now as it is a long time since I swam that far and don`t want to overdo it. We went to Jollybee for lunch and had Burger and chips with iced tea very nice. Then we went home and guess what? no water still. Not to worry we had a few buckets filled up so no need to panic, and we had a full 5 gallons of drinking water.Through the day the water would trickle out of the taps and we managed to wash up etc. But by now I am getting sticky and a little smelly and a little agitated so we go and see my landlord. He says he does not know what is going on and this annoys me further, Why has he not called the water supplier maybe there is a problem they don`t know about and he can inform them. Philippino answer "well this is the Philippines" said with a smile w$%^ker. About 630pm the water starts to come through quicker but there is dirt in it so we leave the taps running. Well now flying ants are coming out of the taps WTF I must have had about 300 of them in my apartment so I got rid of them or so I thought. I had a shower and was drying myself off and I started to sting in places over my body. The little sh!ts had gotten into my towel and I hadn`t noticed them. I got bitten twice on the back 3 times on my legs and once on my, wait for it, manhood. Now it may seem funny to you but it hurt like hell and Sim would not stop laughing. Any way I had a good day and as the saying goes here "It`s more fun in the Philippines" Yeh right for mossies and biting ants maybe not for me this day.

MikeB Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Guadalupe had (has?) a critical water shortage, once they shut it off in my area for 2 days to fix something - no notice. You can live w/o a lot of things but water isn't on the list. They were talking about putting in an additional water line as they did in other areas of the city. I moved to Argao and the water is sort of ok but a lot of blackouts. Always something, as Gilda used to say. But it's more fun.
Dave Hounddriver Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Water stories . . well shoot . . in my area there is water piped in free, but only 3 days a week. Not a problem, just build a tank, right? But don't let the barangay catch you. They only let you store one garbage pail full of water unless you have a preexisting tank from before that reg. Luckily we have such a tank. Unluckily I live with people who will leave the tap running sometimes. :bash: Its all good.
