Strange, why would someone send money in this manor. The whole thing seems odd.

She left the convent two months ago and is engaged to someone in England?

Freeman;

"A woman lost P32,876 after the money, which her fiancé sent from Great Britain last week was delivered to another person who allegedly claimed to be her apartment’s caretaker."

seems that that woman had OPENED her mouth saying that she was due some money .

and some kind hearted soul decided to Help themself to it...

its not the 1st time i have read that someone had lost money, but this is a 1st when the service delivered and it was "lost".

2,, Seems that the person who worked for the "service" may be out of that money.

as they are FULLY responsible for the money til it is Signed for

.(presumely the right person)

3. our extended family and US(forum members) must be careful and quite in our $$ affairs,

make sure that no ones knows that your expecting..

as you reduce your risk or exposure to possible theft.

i recall a old saying "lose lips sinks ships"or _ "a fool and his money is soon departed" that is true even today.

4. even today some people who dont have bank accounts.

They choose to send money DOOR to DOOR, :th_imstupid:

Lets face it, 3rd party involvement is always a NO NO. a little like the ATM thing from another thread. Westen Union may be a little dearer but 100% safer. Lesson Learned ???? I doubt it. Collect it youself always! Common sense needed I think here but it is Fun here in the RPI NOT! Sometimes

The caretaker must have shown some form of id to collect the money, A signature on its own is no good.

It's best to send money bank to bank.

sounds like a tele-novela..............this has all the elements of a good short story..........

1. ROBBERY!

2. FORMER NUN OF TEN YEARS LIVING IN SIN WITH BOYFRIEND!

3. BOYFRIEND GOES TO HOSPITAL FROM STREES!

4. FORGERY!

5. IT'S ALL THERE IN THE PHILSTAR RAG!

I started writing the second I read the article.
