Police identified the victim as Paul Anthony Roberts, businessman, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Tinigaw, this town and married to a Filipina.Roberts was driving his Toyota Revo near Crossing Banga-New Washington at 7:00 p.m Friday when the suspects approached his vehicle and shot him. Roberts sustained a bullet wound on his mouth and was brought to a nearby Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital by bystanders. Police recovered two empty shells and a slug of caliber 45 near the intersection of Quezon and Osmena Avenues. Aklan police director Senior Supt. Clarence Guinto said the police conducted a manhunt operations that resulted to the arrest of two motorcycle riding suspects in Barangay Pudiot, Tangalan, Aklan, about 20 kms west of the crime scene."The ballistic exams of the unlicensed firearms recovered from the suspects will determine if they are related to Roberts slay attempts," Guinto added.The suspects, however, denied their involvement behind the attempts on the life of the British national. They were detained at the Kalibo police station and under investigation by Supt. Georby Manuel of Aklan's Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO)...

The suspect in the murder of a British national last year was arrested by the Kalibo police on Wednesday morning.Kalibo police chief Senior Inspector Arnolito Laguerta, Jr. told the Aklanforum that Amy Roberts, 44, resident of Barangay Tinigaw, this town, was apprehended in Barangay Old Buswang at about 11 a.m.Judge Montalid Patnubay, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 9 issued the warrant of arrest on February 15, 2010. No bail was recommended for her arrest. Amy Roberts was the prime suspect in the murder of her British husband Paul Roberts last June 28, 2009. The 60 year-old victim was found dead lying in bed with multiple stab wounds. The police found the stainless knife and the hammer believed used in the killing of Robert inside their house. Amy Roberts did not resist arrest after Laguerta and his men

Good to see a case solved and the murderer not get away with it,may she rot in hell :tiphat:
You're much more an optimist than I am. Arrested is a far cry from tried, convicted, and sentenced. At the very least, she'll be in jail for a bit while she awaits her day in court. That is, assuming she doesn't make bail.
