I have prepared a full summary of this case which takes account of all events to the present day. It is far too long to post as a message so you can download it and read it at your leisure.

Just finished reading through all ten pages. What a complete mess. Right off the start I can see nothing but face saving measures. No one will admit to any mistake what so ever.

Reminds me of a clip on America's Funniest Video. A little kid has chocolate smeared on his face. The parents video him and ask

"Have you been eating the chocolate?"

The kid has this innocent look to him and say "No."

"How did the chocolate get on your face?"

"I dunno"

That video always stuck in my head. The little kid kept denying eating any chocolate yet the evidence was smeared all over his face.

The answer to your question is contained within the first two paragraphs of the opening post of this topic: Ellah Joy Case: Drawing To A Close to which I would add that it's unlikely there'll be a decision regarding Bella's Bail before the New Year.

Thanks for an excellent summary. I will refrain my offering an opinion. I do appreciate it when you make it clear what is factual and what is your views of the process. I'm strong believer in "just the facts, Ma'am" .

I was struck by your report that nothing has been sent to the UK police except a single letter.

Thanks Mike! It is not known exactly what was sent by the Cebu Police to London - apart from that letter from Renante Pique - but Scotland Yard detectives assigned to the case were not sent anything of any substance, despite several requests, by their counterparts on the island. Instead they received several "demands" to arrest Ian Griffiths, escort him to Cebu and hand him over to the PNP.

Talking of letters though, the British Police almost never give a reason for dropping a case and releasing someone - a simple "you're free to go, sir" is about as much as you'll get from them. Therefore they wouldn't have been at all impressed by reading press accounts which contained the full text of a confidential Force-to-Force letter sent to the Cebu PNP by Detective Inspector Chalmers, who headed the investigation, in which he explained his reasons for releasing Ian Griffiths from his Bail commitments and closing the case file.
