Cheap Flights From Australia?

Hi All, I don't want to go wildly off topic, however I have a sister in law on my wife's side who is now working in Melbourne, she hasn't been well recently and is now awaiting the results of a biopsy, before she left for Australia she lived with us, so were all quite close.

Were considering a couple of options, either my wife visits her sister in Australia, of course that would mean jumping through a whole bunch of Visa hoops and related costs, or we pay for her ticket to come back to Cebu for a few weeks, she wont require any visa Cebu end, nor Australia end as she has a legitimate work visa. so our main concern is the cheapest flight route/ airline, the flight doesn't have to be immediately it could be in a few months time, so the dates are fairly open we would appreciate any information on cheaper flights to Cebu or Manila and months that are low season etc

thanks in Advance

John

Several OZ travel sites for cheap tickets. Generally, a RT ticket is cheaper than a 1 way ticket. Google Australian travel search engines.

Assuming a bad result... her returning to Cebu may be a better option as she can see many more people. However, where can she afford treatment may be a deciding factor. Insurance? Stay in OZ, no insurance.... Cebu and pay out of pocket. Depending on the diagnoses, most cancers are treated by 'protocol' instead of any cutting edge 1st world country treatments.

Look at the big picture instead of just sister to sister visiting.

Thanks Bruce, Yes of course your right, i clearly don't want to go into her personal health details on line, however if the biopsy does bring bad news, the Doctors say its all treatable, the trip is more inline with a morale boost for her, Shes not been home for more than two years, so I'm sure she would love the trip, as far as I'm aware she does have medical coverage in Australia as she works for Australia Bank.

Thanks Lyno, the cheapest I have found is Brunei airways, is there any particular month or months that I should avoid booking a flight out of Melbourne? or any months that may be low season and attract lower fares when leaving melbourne?

Thanks

The longer out you can put the flight - I'm talking a couple months -  and without falling under the higher demand times, the price will be less costly again.

Thanks all, she received the results of the Biopsy yesterday and the lump in her throat is benign, she needs to see a specialist next week to see what comes next, apparently she can see the lump by looking inside her mouth with a mirror, and its felt when ever she swallows, so I'll monitor flight prices and see how things look next week after the specialist has seen her, she's only in her early thirties.
