Popular Post earthdome Posted April 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2013 If is now official, the girlfriend and I broke up earlier today, 4 months to the day since I arrived. Nothing dramatic. We both just realized that it wasn't working. I am not the type of person to try and control or manipulate another person. I let her be free to make her own choices and came to realize based on her choices that a long term relationship would not work between us. I have no regrets. In the four months I have been here I have learned a great deal about the Philippines, filipino culture, some tagalog and maybe a little bit about filipinas. This has not soured me on living in the Philippines. Just a bit of a detour on my move to Baguio. So now I will try to make the move to Baguio ASAP. I did have an apartment lined up in Baguio, but that was through the girlfriend and in the same building as a friend of hers. (Earthdome was a nuclear engineer, US Navy). Just crank it to max plus 30 percent and flank speed ahead! I started the conversation that led up to it but she was the first to suggest we break up. When I started the conversation I was OK with that being one of the outcomes and was relieved when she suggested it.
