I have checked everywhere and can't find the program that host this piece of crap ..... lt appears when I load my tabs from my browser ..... but I can find the program listed in my add-ons for FireFox .... it is damn annoying as it attaches itself to the end of my tabs and I can find no info on it to see how to delete it ..... without a name I can't search Google ..... to be honest I don't even know how I got the damn thing ..... I run WinPatrol Plus and it will normally catch any program that tries to start itself and ask me if I want to run that program ..... but somehow this one managed to sneak by ...... here's a screen shot .... 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mike S Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 OK I found it ..... it is adware and the program is called My Search Results gather info on your searches (if you use it for searching) and does god knows what with it ...... for windows go to your programs and features and delete a program called "DefaultTab" by Search Results, LLC ....... and No Bob I will not change to Limericks ..... (to kids) this is how your mom and I met ..... :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: ..... just kidding of course .... :mocking: Anyway I run Avast .... Adware and Malwarebytes and NONE of these programs picked it up which surprised the crap out of me .... No Bob not the first time I've caught something and I download tons of stuff of the net (sadly no porn .... :mocking: ) ... such as games ... programs etc. .... and mostly from sites I trust like C-Net ... Two Cows etc ..... but I did download a couple of puzzle mystery games from C-Net a couple of days ago and I suppose it could have come from there .... but they are pretty well a trusted site ...... just goes to show you can never know for sure .... anyway it's fixed now so all is well ..... by the way i download a dozen more puzzle games last night (my asawa and I love playing them together .... :dance: ) you know the kind you have to find hidden clues in different rooms to solve a puzzle .... and had no problem ..... guess it is just the luck of the Irish ..... :hystery: ..... :cheersty: 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

CNet is a trustworthy company.. but as you go to their parent company... and then to their parent company... and one more step up to their parent company... Hmmm... Not so trustworthy anymore... Watch out for that tracking software... Sorry - the lawyers say that I signed the paper where I can't say their name anymore... darn. So go to CNet and up 2 corporate owners and ... hehe!
