Hi all, looking for some advice, we are about to move to Cebu and have too much stuff to take on the plane. Does anyone have any experience of shipping boxes / suit cases from UK to Philippines? We've had air freight quotes from the airlines c$900 which seems crazy!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

HUMM. since i dont have time to "google" a search for you, how about try this?

1. contact the local BPI branch nearest you and ask them who they may know of

or any "philippine run bank" /remittance company

( when i lived in BCN-spain, the local BPI had posted the various shipping firms available)

2. ask the local Filipinos or Filipino  run business that you may see.

Of what I recall, LBC has office in the UK> but where? :89:

just look at the

Yes Balikbayan.

And if you will go to visit UK now and then, you can do as I plan to do from Sweden =Bring later needed/wanted things for free part by part when you fly there anyway.

Balikbayan Boxes are the only way to go!

I wish I could them to ship from here back to the US... I sent some gifts to the kids and 3 kilo cost p2,200!  That is like $50 USD  Ouch.

I shipped 11 large BB boxes to myself when I moved over here.  It was $120 per box from Texas (ship 10 the 11th is free).  And no weight limit.

Hi, I have moved a lot of stuff from the UK To Cebu, I found balikbayan boxes to be the cheapest method, on average from london to Cebu it takes ten weeks, have had some arrive at eight weeks, I've never faced custom charges or lost any of the contents, sometimes the boxes seem to have been knocked arround a little so pak things well in plastic bags, then tape the entire boxes closed, there are a lot of companies in the in the UK, just google balikbayan boxes or something similar and you'll havea wealth of choice

I have used so many in the past that I cant say who i prefer, I tend to look for what specials they have, for example if your send two medium size boxes you can sometimes get a free small  box, included

here are the last three companies that I've used :

I used these. http://www.forexcargouk.com/   Took six weeks.  They only collect in their area.  I couriered my boxes to them.
