Tropical Storm Santi

This is a big storm headed through Luzon over the next few days.  Hopefully it will not turn into a cyclone, but it is big and full of rain.

We could use a bit of rain here to clean out the mud dust from the recent flooding, but not too much please!

Currently, the path is taking it just north of Angeles, so it might be a good idea to stock up tomorrow.

I need to put together an emergency stash but still have not gotten around to it.

Here in Subic Bay it has not been too bad, I think.  Steady rain but nothing like we got during the monsoon back on Sep. 23rd, that caused the bad flooding.  Hopefully the area gets through this without flooding.  It has been a bit windy but nothing damaging here.

12noon latest   updatepost-1293-0-48324600-1381555363_thumb.jp

MANILA, Philippines — Storm signals in most areas of Luzon were lifted as typhoon “Santi “(international name Nari) continued to hover over the West Philippine Sea.

Zambales and Bataan were placed under Signal No. 1, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said midday Saturday.

The typhoon was last observed 100 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 150kph.

It also slightly slowed down, and was moving west at 19kph.

Remy Liwanag of Pagasa told INQUIRER.net that the typhoon left the Philippine landmass early Saturday. It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday morning.

Sea travel remained risky over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.

Santi Claws! Ha well said Dave.

We had a rough night, a fair bit of damage by the winds last night, and some leaking in our wet kitchen. Neighbors had roof sheets off, and some trees down, but all in all, we wethered the storm. Several Brown Outs through the night.

Both Ellie and Chiya clung close for most of the night, but by morning all was well.

Whether the weather be fine

Or whether the weather be not

Whether the weather be cold

Or whether the weather be hot

We'll whether the weather

What ever the weather

Whether we like it or not.
