Why I Love The Philippines So Much

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this, but it does relate to our often mixed feelings as would-be or current expats.  The following says it all for me:

 

After catching a news bite on ABC Australia I went hunting down the full article.  The portion that caught my initially caught my attention starts at about minute 6:50 on the video in the linked article.

For those with low speed connections, she says:

 

"Even when it rains there's always the sun," she said, adding that the outside world "continue to help us because we really cant do it all alone".

However, she adds with a smile: "Believe in us because we can do it and because we are Filipinos and we are going to stand strong."

 

And some of my less knowing friends wonder why I love The Philippines so much.

She has a gorgeous smile and incredible attitude that's for sure, even tho she must have been crying on the inside!

A poster child for the Philippines! All that is good about Filipinos. Not just her smile, her determination, her resilience, her attitude.

 

I hope she and all the others get the opportunity to show the world what they are capable of.
