San Jose Dinagat Island

I had seen pictures of the beaches here before and wanted to experience them for myself. San Jose, Dinagat is a 90 minute ferry ride from Surigao in Northern Mindanao. The ferry ride cost P100 per head each way.

In San Jose we stayed at an in called the Bahay Tourista. Room rates were decent. We got the largest room for P600 a night. Great balcony view of the bay. It is the official Philippine tourist information site as well. While our stay was short, we did have a good time despite the rain. Getting to the beaches requires renting a boat. Rates range from P1,000 - P1,500 for a small boat. You rent by the boat, not by the person. My wife is loosing her negotiating skills the more she is here in the US.

The Photo below is a beach I have seen photos of before. Now I can say I have seen and photographed it with my own eyes.

The water looks nice in the pictures.  Were you able to swim or snorkle?
