A Tale Of 2 Lantaws

So off we go to Lantaw Restaurant at SRP outside of Cebu. Warm balmy night but a few ominous dark clouds forming. Upon arrival very impressed with the place and looks clean and bright, take a table for 4 outside, lot of staff but unfortunately all going about like headless chooks, finally get a waiter and order drinks and this was when the fun started.Between the drinks order and the delivery of said drinks, the rain came, so we moved inside as the table beside us did, I don't know what happened but we spent the rest of the night getting each others order, we tried to explain to the staff but no sorry sir, you are wrong, I suggested to the other table we should just change tables and that would fix it, but they being Filipino seemed to think this service was normal.Ok I said and had another beer. Cost for food (excellent food, shambolic service) 1388pesos with drinks.

So of we go Lantaw at Cordova for a friends b/day 6 of us. Well knock me down, the service was how do you say Excellent, what a contrast from Lantaw SRP. I have eaten at many so called quality expensive restaurants in Australia but this Lantaw would take them apart. Attentive,courteous, attention to detail, I don't know where they get the very beautiful waitresses from ( must have a machine out the back) but nothing was to much trouble, drinks came fast and cold, dinner order I thought given previous experience at least an hour and maybe the right table, 15 minutes later, pipping hot on the table, food again excellent.This place also has a great view of Cebu City at night, wonderful and the mountains in the backround, well worth a visit, I will certainly be going back. Ok for 6 was 2038 pesos all up.We had 2 calamari, chop suey, sqiud, lechon, chicken and of course 2 big plates of rice, 6 beers and a jug of friut drink. From arrival to departure the staff, all of them, never missed a beat, they should all be very proud of this fine restaurant.

The one on the SRP has only been opened a little while, maybe they are still working the kinks out. Thanks for the review, though. It was thrown up very fast and it doesn't look like much of an establishment. I'm not sure if they even have an indoor/aircon area. Looks like a pavillion to me, from the highway anyway.

Yes you are right Will, my filipina friend said same same as you, just opened, the decor inside is spot on, clean well set out, all open air, maybe I was a little quick to bad mouth the place, but the service was shambolic, funny but shambolic, just the complete contrast between the two Lantaws, I will go again to both, the food is excellent, the cost, well what can you say. Anyway it's more fun in the Phils, crazy but my type of crazy
