I stopped in to villa prescilla on one of my walks last week and they showed me around.  The manageress told me they have rooms at 22,000 a month plus your own electric bill and she said there is 10% off if you stay more than 3 months.  She said none of the cheaper rooms were available and she did not mention anything about renting for less than a month.

Just to add to that.  Because she did not mention a weekly rate did not mean that she would not accept a weekly rental if the unit happened to be available that week but I got the distinct impression that the units were normally rented for periods of 1 to 3 months.  I did like the units, small but nicely furnished, and yet I thought 22,000 plus electric bill would be too high for my liking.

If I was staying for a month I would forget about a kitchenette and just get a hotel room with a ref.  I would buy a 90 peso electric kettle at Unitop with which I could make anything from coffee to soup.  With the reasonable prices at many restaurants down town I think I would be OK with that.

there is Dr Kho's next door to the Private Garden, just past Robinson's on the way south out of town. Though it is a bit seedy, and also the permanent residents are like these waxworks sitting out on the balconies all day long.  So it has a surreal atmostphere. It is right on the beach too but you would not want to swim in the water, it is too close to the center of town. They do have kitchens and refs though, and the bedroom is even airconditioned. Price in 2012-13 was an unbelievable 500 a night. But you would be lucky if there was an apartment empty like I was when I turned up there on 'spec.
