Types Of Fines For Overstaying Visa

Hi Everyone, I was hoping some of you might fill me in on what happens when you are leaving and you have overstayed your visa. 

I haven't overstayed mine yet. I have been coming in out on a multi-entry one year long visa. This always gives you a maximum of 60 days . 

i have been going in and out since January.

I would like to stay about a month longer than the 60 days on my next trip.

Is it better to make a special trip to someplace like Cebu to get an extension? (a long journey for me) Or is it the same amount of money that you will get hit up for at the airport. ......and would any of you know now much fines are or how they are calculated?

As soon as your Visa expires you are here illegally.  The management of this forum does not condone any illegal activity.  To calculate the penalty of an illegal activity, with intent to flout the law, is to condone it.

 

Thus you are best advised to contact the nearest BI office on or before the date your Visa expires.  HOWEVER, in the event you make a simple mistake of a day or two, the fine is 1,000 pesos plus the cost of the Visa renewal that you would have had to pay if you were there on time.  Staying in any country illegally (Philippines included) is a serious offense, more so since BI has tightened things up.

BI has been cracking down on this . It wiil cost you way more to deal with it at the airport 

 

Last time I left there was a Chinese girl trying to slip though 1 day over and was escorted to the office immediately
