Hi...you can look at the area in Cabrera Street in Pasay city if you want other option..its along Edsa too and also near Tramo, Pasay City :)

The reason I'm going there is its Grace's family home and the large green building in the first picture is Pasay City Hospital.

Been there, or one just like it, in Bagong Silang, Phase 1.

 

It was the safest and most friendly place I have lived in the Philippines. (although not the quietest)

 

Learnt how to pump my water every day, and fill our water barrel. (and have a shower using the hand bucket, which is no mean trick when shaving or washing your hair.) (what little is left that is)

 

Learnt how to use a toilet that had no lid or seat! (although that did not remain so for long).

 

Learnt who real Filipinos were, and how friendly and helpful they can be as well.

 

We "borrowed" our electricity from one neighbour,

 

our internet from another,

 

and when things were really bad, we even accepted food and other assistance from neighbours.

 

Don't get me wrong, I hope I don't have to go back, but at least I am not afraid to anymore!
