Popular Post robert k Posted January 16, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 16, 2015 I had my fifth motorcycle collide with a vehicle I was driving today. I had just completed a R/H turn when a motorcycle completed a L/H turn immediately after at high speed and tried to pass me on the left. I think the passenger holding the computer tower behind the driver contributed to the motorcycle overbalancing. I did stop and talk to this one because they were unable to just drive off. The driver said his front brake was inoperative and his slipper became hung up so he couldn't engage the rear brake. Really they were going too fast altogether, their destination, the computer shop was only 20 meters down the road from the accident. This is why I bought something old that needed some reconditioning. Something that people would really, really, rather not collide with. The strategy seems to have been working. When I drove my friends car I was rear ended every time I drove it. Nothing you can do about people riding motorcycles following too close with their heads up their posteriors. I will look for a shop tomorrow to paint the motorcycles on the back of the truck.

jon1 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 My wife's truck has a nice steel rear bumper installed on it. You definitely do not want to run into that and it gives me peace of mind knowing that it is there to protect her.
