some members who have a SMART or TNT(talk-n-text) do travel outside the country,

 i understand that it is near impossible to check your LOAD BALANCE.

have found a link that could help in this matter,

 

Check prepaid load balance

You can conveniently check your remaining load balance via SIM Menu, SMS, online or IVRS. You will get details on your remaining airtime, free texts and current SMS bucket subscriptions.

For Smart Prepaid subscribers

• Using your SMART SIM, go to SMART MENU>Buddy Balance to receive your balance information via text.
•  
• Text ?1515 to 214.
• Log-on to  my smart to regularly check your balance online.
•  
• Registration and linking of account are needed.
• Dial our toll free number *888 using your cellphone or (02) 888-1111 via landline and follow the voice prompt for balance inquiry.
• Dial 1515 using your cellphone and you will receive your balance details via SMS (P1/inquiry).

For Talk 'N Text subscribers

• Using your Talk 'N Text SIM, go to TALK N TEXT MENU>Balance Inquiry to receive your balance information via text.
• Text ?15001 to 214.
• Log-on to  my smart to regularly check your balance online. Registration and linking of account are needed.
• Dial our toll free number *888 using your cellphone or (02) 888-1111 via landline and follow the voice prompt for balance inquiry.
• Dial 15001 using your cellphone and you will receive your balance details via SMS (P1/inquiry).

Note: Balance Inquiry via SMS, SMART/Talk 'N Text menu, my.Smart and IVRS is free of charge.

I just log into my smart account and all the info is there. I top up my load in Australia from, https://store.smartpinoy.com/ They used to say if your ballace drops to 0 when outside the Philippines you cant top it up but I have found that its not true or aplicable anymore as a couple of times I forgot about it but still topped up. I did lose about 5000 free text by not keeping it topped up but such is life.

I top up my smart prepaid sim, both when in Phils or abroad, online via my BDO account. I would think most banks offer this facility.

I check my balance either by the the Smart Menu > buddy balance or online using https://mobile.smart.com.ph/
