A Melbourne criminal has been arrested in the Philippines over the "brutal" murder of a 17-year-old girl he met on the internet. The remains of Alona Alvarez were found by employees at a motel in the southern city of Dipolog on Friday. Ali Ali, 42, was arrested by police in Dumaguete City on Sunday after witnesses claimed to have seen him in the company of Ms Alvarez before she was found dead.
