In general the Philippines is more expensive than the UK and way behind on models. You are unlikely to find anything cutting edge.

I bring all the electronics and shoes I think I will need for a few years, tools, not that I can't get tools but the ones I want in their own [compact] organizing case. I'm bringing 10 P-51 can openers. My brand of razors...and good towels are hard to come by. As far as I know you can't even get a 256GB USB 3.0 flash drive in the Philippines and if you could get one [that wasn't counterfeit] it would probably cost more than a 2 terbyte external hard drive.

I agree. One day I want to track down someone who tempers the relatively soft steel from a vehicle leaf spring! I just want to see their technique.
