I do agree with you Geoff. But those folks are out of control.

You have no idea, no idea at all how bad Seattle has become.

While being active on some local issues I attended many city council meetings for a medium sized midwestern city. Nothing unusual occurred in that meeting in Seattle. That looks pretty normal for how a city council operates. I agree that many cities are out of control nanny states, but what you saw is not an example of that.

I lived in Yakima for 30+ years.  The difference in political demographics from the west side of the mountains to the east side of the states was remarkable.  Many on the east side thought the state should be divided so that the more conservative voters on the east side would be better represented.

That sentiment is become strong once again including the Idaho panhandle or? Fact is there is not enough tax revenue to make it work or votes.

The hard left city council and King county council have got enough people pissed off many are not even trying to run again. The pendulum is starting to swing the other direction finally. The huge amount of open narcotic use violence and theft is become too much. This week a crazy homeless man attempted to throw a lady off an overpass onto I-5 several killings and other violence. Violent mental homeless are arrested and released the next day. It's nuts. Google or youtube search Homeless drug seattle.

I'm from Spokane, actually a little north in "Elk" on the east side and the Socialism/Nazism of the far left state government coming from the west side made me move my home residence to Texas a few years ago.

I am familiar with Yakima where my business partner had his CPA practice.  His clients included members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter  Day Saints.  We were extra cautious about topics for conversation knowing that church members, area farmers and rancher are very conservative.  On the coast area, it was the opposite.  Yakima was God & Guns Conservatives.  Seattle and Tacoma was Starbucks Liberals.
