sonjack2847 Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Is it advisable to send vacuum packed goods via BB boxes from the UK to here or will it simply go off.

Tukaram (Tim) Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 I would think if it is packed for non-refrigerated storage, and has plenty of shelf life... why not try it? A canned ham is a shelf item, and could ship (but there are plenty here). Not sure about vacuum packed. If it is meant for long term, room temp storage, I would think it would be ok. Not really different from cake mixes, dried cranberries, and pecans we ship.

I was thinking about meat and fish as there is quite a good selection in the UK . Cheese can come in a bb box as it has been done here.

Tukaram (Tim) Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 That is why I said it depends on how it is designed to be stored. I am unfamiliar with freeze dried meat, but some stuff, like UHT boxed milk does not need refrigeration until it is opened. If the pack of meat needs refrigeration, I would not attempt to ship it in a BB box. If it is designed for room temp storage, I would try.
