IRS Freefile trying to file for President's cheques : Having Issue - Computer Glitch or Brain Fart?

Ok, here is what I know and did so far. My wife and I have not filed taxes since 2013. My income is a 50% VA Service-connected disability (non-taxable), plus jointly (together) we earn less than $24k their for not requiring filings in 2018 and 2019. So that my wife and I to file as to both receive President's relief check, I went to the IRS Non-fllers: Freefile webpage section. I had little issue as the 2-page IRS form allowed or Philippine address and wife's cell phone number and validated her number thru text message authentication code. But when trying validate my email address thru their automated email address to receive the email authentication code? NOTHING!

Not using my Yahoo account, my wife's Yahoo account, my MSN Hotmail or my Goggle Gmail account. I thought maybe the system was merely overwhelmed... But since Wednesday morning, multiple daily attempts throughout the day (morning, afternoon and evening), I have yet received a single response. I have tried every search string I can think of seeking information as to an explanation.  All four of those email accounts are long established, both Yahoo accounts (mine and wife) have actually been used in previous tax filings.

I have no idea if this is due to a clinch of the IRS website, our their Freefile system. When I look on the IRS website there in no information posted later than last month. But all that prevents my filing is their failure to send the email with tier authentication code... Has anyone read or heard of others having similar issues with the IRS website automated systems?

To date the IRS site still will not send the email account validation code... Odd as there seems little upstate information I can find on the internet... Surely there must be others experiencing a similar issue.

Ok, this was posted on my Yahoo mail account on the side panel. This is provided by the VA website so it is current validated information.

VA Partners with Treasury Department to Deliver Economic Impact Payments to Veterans and Survivors

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced today it is working directly with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and U.S. Treasury Department to ensure delivery of ‘Economic Impact Payments’ to Veterans and survivors who receive Compensation and Pension (C&P) benefit payments from VA without additional paperwork or IRS filings.

The ‘Economic Impact Payments,’ authorized by the Treasury Department under the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, will be issued automatically to recipients of non-taxable VA benefits who did not file annual income tax returns for 2018 or 2019. VA and the IRS have been collaborating since the passage of the CARES Act to ensure Veterans receive their EIP.

“Many have expressed concern that Veterans and their beneficiaries would be overlooked during the distribution of Economic Impact Payments from the CARES Act simply because they don’t file an annual tax return,” said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. “This collaboration will ensure our Veterans receive CARES Act payments without any additional action or paperwork required.”

Economic Impact Payments will be automatic for non-tax filing VA beneficiaries. For VA beneficiaries who filed a Form 1040 for 2018 or 2019, those payments will also be automatic. No further action is needed. They can track the status of their payments on the Get My Payment tool on IRS.gov. For non-tax filing VA beneficiaries, please note their information will be loaded on this tool within the next few weeks.

For VA beneficiaries who didn’t file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 and have a dependent, there is a special step they need to take, and the sooner the better. They should visit the Non-Filer: Enter Payment Info Here tool on IRS.gov. By quickly taking steps to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they can receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment.

VA recognizes that many non-tax filing beneficiaries have already begun using the IRS’ EIP payment portal to provide the necessary data to IRS to receive their EIP. There will be no interruption to payments being processed using the IRS portal, and Veterans with internet access are encouraged to continue providing information and track their EIP through the IRS portal.

For those who do not have access, or choose not to use the IRS portal, their EIP will be processed without further action on their part.

While no date for distribution has been set at this time, VA is securely sharing necessary beneficiary data with Treasury which will allow Treasury to begin issuance of Economic Impact Payments.

For more information on CARES Act ‘Economic Impact Payments,’ visit https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payments-what-you-need-to-know.

Probably this is a silly suggestion and I accept that. But have you simply made sure there are no errors in the e-mail addresses you are using? Typos and the like. Seriously, I have had issues with correspondents where I slipped a digit or the decimal...

I know this won't make you feel any better, but I have not seen my direct deposit payment using my SSN account... So you are not alone there, Mate!

Oh... and remember that you are dealing with the US government... nuff said...

I have tried to use all four primary email accounts we use, and each we have been using fore well over twenty years. I have checked and rechecked each multiple times, and even went as far as clearing all the filing data and reentering all that data again. The site simply refuses to send the email  account validation code.... This seems to a two week long 'Catch-22'

From their FAQ. Maybe the last bit? Maybe not

I didn't receive a confirmation email after my account was created. What should I do?
If you didn’t receive a confirmation email when you created an account, it is possible that your spam filter is blocking the email. Check your email account for a spam folder, open it and look for an email from customer_service@freefilefillableforms.com. Each email program and spam filter differs; check with your email service provider for additional help.

Why didn't I receive an acknowledgment email after I transmitted my Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information?
Within 48 hours after you submit your Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information, you will receive an email letting you know your Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information has been accepted or rejected. If not, review the following:

o Are you checking the right email account? Make sure you are checking the same email account you entered in the 'STEP 2. E-File Your Tax Forms' tab when you submitted your Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information.
Check your spam filter. If the email is in your spam filter, add customer_service@freefilefillableforms.com to your safe senders list to ensure that you receive future emails. Each email program and spam filter differs; check your email service provider for additional help.
If you still haven’t received an email, you can check your status by clicking the 'Check E-File Status' button. Enter your Social Security Number. If the status shows no Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information has been transmitted, then this means you have not transmitted your Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info information from this account.
