A10 warthog my favorite close support aircraft...even if it is air force. 30mm depleted uranium rounds.. turns on a dime. If this photo is true,,,,and this was a strafing run,,,,,there wouldnt be enough left to take another photo :hystery:

There is an A10 on static display at Joint Lewis McCord base. When we visited I was surprised the size of the aircraft and it's 30mm gun.

Those A10s were built in my hometown, Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, Md.  My grandfather and father both worked there.  Enjoyed watching them flying overhead on their test runs as they came off the line.  Also the flying boxcar C119.  Loved to hear those engines warmed up during testing after rebuilds.
