6 Week Old Puppy First Vet Visit

So, the newest member of the family went for his first vet check, vaccinations etc.  We went to Animal Wellness in Piapi as that had been recommended by a couple of friends.  

The cost breakdown was as follows:

Consultation fee:  500PHP

Vaccination (5 in one that covers everything):  500PHP

De-Worming:  150PHP

Nextguard (de-lousing):  595PHP

Vaccination Card (yes, they charged for it.. ):  50PHP

Overall much cheaper than I thought it would be.  Anyone that's had dogs long term knows the de-worming and de-lousing will be an ongoing monthly cost, but we'll be buying and administering those ourselves in the future.  After the puppy vaccination schedule is complete, they'll be annual.  

The vet was great.  Friendly, knew his stuff and all the staff clearly love their jobs, even the guard on the door who did the initial weigh-in.  

For those that are wondering, the pup is a Japanese Spitz.  If you've never seen one, he looks like a downsized Samoyed but bigger than a Pomeranian so small-medium when fully grown.

That was in the de-worming mate.

You can purchase 5 in 1 from Agrivet if you are comfortable doing the shots yourself.   That being said a good vet is able to do a complete wellness check.
