It seems you need at least 3 months visa but info is conflicting on internet, I hope to use that ID to open a bank account.

If you’re here on a tourist visa then you might have to shop around to find a bank manager who’s willing to open an account for you. The majority of banks will no longer do it for ppl here on tourist visas. Of course you’ll also need a passport and likely also need an ACR card too. Some might even ask for proof of residency such as a lease or utility bill in your name. Back in 2013 when I stayed about 8 months I had to show a letter from the condo association to prove that I was renting one (6 month lease and I had been here 3 months already) to PNB to open an account.

All postal IDs are suspended at the moment and have been since March 10th.  For me its a very valuable ID to have , but no new ones nor renewals for a few months now.

And as a small update, finally 2 years after stopping Postal ID renewals they are now renewing and issuing.

A useful ID to have as the National ID is useless...might take a year or more to obtain and as it doesnt require a signature, banks wont accept.

Passport, utiliity bill in your name, ACR or SRRV card, P500 fee and all is good.
