Popular Post JJReyes Posted December 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2023 There is a story circulating about several groups in the United States who gather together at random restaurants, and each agree to tip $100. Minimum is 10 diners and 18 the largest number so far. The group could be friends or strangers responding to an Instagram message board. The fun is the "made my day" overwhelming response from the server, leaving the participants with a "feel good" feeling. Yesterday, my sister and her husband had a 50th anniversary renewal of vows ceremony and party. I shared the story with relatives and family friends, suggesting something similar here with perhaps each person giving P1,000. The universal response was, "Are you out of your mind!" Anyway, it's a good story and expats might want to organize something similar. 3

I'll pass and leave the tipping custom and culture where it belongs! 4

Were that to happen here every friend, family member, neighbor, etc. would be upset that you gave 1000 peso to a stranger and not to them. Might even be dangerous.
