Yep, you certainly can. There are a number of buses that leave from South Bus Terminal every day to Dumaguete City, from Cebu, and return. I believe there is one that leaves about 7:00am or 7:30am, which is the latest I would suggest leaving, as it is a ride down there, probably 5 to 6 hours.

Once the bus drives on to the Ro-Ro, you can depart the bus, go upstairs, and enjoy the view from the seating area. It will be cooler for you to ride up there as well. A guy will come around and ask you for the fare.

John, I'm sorry to say I can't recall the exact costs, but the Ro-Ro was about Php 65 per head, or there about?

Can you ride a motorcycle? If so, you can rent one, 24 hour rental, for Php 250, in town. Tell the pedi-cab driver to take you to Sted's, at the corner of Perdices and Sta. Rosa Streets. Personally, I recommend the guys on the southwest corner, in the burned out building, to rent from, rather than the ones across the street from them, on the southeast corner.
... what about pension house type accomodation in Dumaguete or Valencia ?
I can recommend Hotel Palwa, in Dumaguete City. From the bus terminal, take a Pedi-cab to the hotel.
sorry for so many questions
No worries, mate. Happy to help. Here are some photos I took of my room in Hotel Palwa, on my last (fairly recent) visit to Dumaguete: post-8-1225080424_thumb.jpg post-8-1225080284_thumb.jpg post-8-1225080370_thumb.jpg post-8-1225080447_thumb.jpgReference Links: http://www.hotelpalwa.com - Hotel websitehttp://www.hotelpalwa.com/DmgteMap.html - Map of Dumaguete City.http://www."another forum".com/travel.htm - Photo of pedi-cab, about 1/3 down the page.http://cebuboattrips.com/boat_photos.htm - The first row, third image, and the entire second row are of the crossing from Samboan, Cebu to Tampi, Negros Oriental. Hi John,Um, probably 10 kilometers? That is only a guess. You can PM "shadow" on the "another forum" Forums for a more precise answer, I'm sure..
