averted being ripped off

so, I go to get my oil changed today (a place I have been going for over 2 years). After the initial check they came back with some things I needed to get done. I asked the cashier how much, and it came to just over 20k (not including the oil change).  

I looked harder at the list and saw timing belt.   I am thinking, hmmmm I swear I just had that changed last year.  So I went to ask the mechanic and he said, oh yes that's right, you had that changed last year.   So now I am thinking, did you even ?????? check this stuff!!!   So I went down the list and asked one by one, did you check this?   He had not checked one thing they are telling me I need.  He said he just based it on the kilometer reading (I could tell he knew he got caught).  I spoke to the site manager and informed them I will never come back, and they just lost a loyal customer.   I asked what happened to the old guy that was here (he was really good)...  They said he had a stroke and couldnt work anymore.   (PS, he is doing fine, just cant really work anymore)

Its more fun in the Philippines or Filipino pride  (sounds like a good fractured fairy tales episode)
