OnMyWay Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Sharing my hospital bill summary. We are often wondering how much PhilHealth covers, etc. It covered a good chunk. I am grandfathered on my wife's policy and I don't know if my coverage is different than those of you who who pay the regular price, 18k more or less. I have seen it mentioned that expats are not covered for some major items. This for stroke, and I was covered. This was at ACE Baypointe hospital. I would have preferred not to go there but my preferred hospital was 15 minutes farther and I was having the stroke. The doctors fees were the only thing I think I got overcharged on, but most of that was later discounted. They know how to play the game. I got the senior discount, which was applied before PhilHealth. Hospital stay was 7 nights. This bill is everything except for maybe 10 k of misc stuff. Hospital Charges Inc. everything but professional fees. ER, labs, room, etc. Actual 168,534 SC discount 33,706 Sub-ttl 134,827 PhilHealth 53,200 Ttl 81,627 Professional Fees Actual 96,150 SC discount 19,430 Sub-ttl 77,720 PhilHealth 22,800 Ttl 54,920 Grand Total Actual 265,684 SC discount 53,136 Sub-ttl 212,547 PhilHealth 76,000 Ttl I paid 136,547

The hospital gives a senior discount to all seniors. Just had to show my driver's license.

They gave me a senior discount and just asked for id.
Gas Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Seems like a very reasonable bill to me. Glad to hear you got the senior discount and Philhealth paid some of the bill.

I agree, but the professional fees were out of line, IMHO. I'll explain why some other time.
