MalloDAVAO CITY -- The body of the missing Australian national was found Wednesday from a shallow grave at the front yard of a house at the upscale Guadalupe village in Lanang, Davao City. Police exhumed the body of Philip Aitken, an Australian national, from a three feet deep grave, with his hands and feet tied together and his body wrapped in plastic. Aitken, 45, a mechanical engineer of a major power company, Agrekko Co. in Dubai, was in the city to visit his son with his former common law wife, a certain Corazon Donato, 30. The live-in partner of Aitken's former common-law-wife, a certain April Jay Quizan, 26, admitted to the crime and revealed the location of the gravesite. Authorities are one in saying that Donato and Quizan might have murdered Aitken, along with four other suspects. Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Southern Mindanao and the Davao City Police Office arrested four suspects believed to have perpetrated the murder of Aitken. One of the motives being considered by the authorities is the possibility of conflict between Donato and Aitken over the custody of their four-year-old son whom the former wanted to bring with him to Australia.
