I guess the Briton was not as good at kick-boxing as he thought since he had to resort to using a knife. Stupid is as stupid does. There should be a test to determine which people turn into aggressive once drunk and they should never be allowed to drink in public. Since this guy had been known to cause problems when drunk, it is a shame that the Thai police did not deport his sorry ass. Fortunately the majority of non Filipino drunks I have seen in the Philippines were always happy drunks, maybe the bad ones go to Thailand.  smileyvault-unsure.gifAmerican tourist killed on Thai beach island, police name Briton as prime suspect  BANGKOK (AP) — An American tourist was killed on the Thai island of Phuket after a British man allegedly picked a fight with him at a bar, followed him back to his hotel and stabbed him to death, police said Sunday.  The body of Dashawn Longfellow, 23, was found before dawn Saturday at the Yanui Paradise Resort with several stab wounds in his chest, said police Lt. Col. Anukul Nuket.  According to witnesses, Longfellow was at a bar near his hotel with a Thai girlfriend when a British man identified as a regular picked a fight with him, Anukul said.  The Briton, who trained in Thai kickboxing, or Muay Thai, was known for "getting drunk and picking fights and bragging that he's invincible," Anukul told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. Longfellow fended off the attacker until bar staff separated them and the American left with his girlfriend.  The Briton is believed to have followed the couple back to their hotel, where Longfellow dropped off his girlfriend and went out to a convenience store, Anukul said. When the American returned, the Briton was allegedly waiting for him outside his room where a fight ensued and Longfellow was stabbed, according to Anukul. A man who identified himself as a manager at the Yanui Paradise Resort declined to disclose details, saying he was only speaking to the U.S. Embassy. The embassy could not immediately be reached for comment. Longfellow's passport said he came from Littleton, Colorado, police said.  Police said they have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.

There are plenty of news items about drunk locals hacking, shooting, clubbing one another. Generalizations are usually wrong (including this one)..

Yeah, the drunk would have just shot him in the bar, instead of following him and stabbing him :(

I just hate it when I am correct but in this case it is such a shame that a man who served his country had to be killed because of a drunks shame and inability to deal with losing a fight. I would bet that without being drunk the Brit who is being hunted was probably a nice person. Heck maybe the guy is in the Philippines now.   Manhunt Still Underway in Thailand for British KickboxerThai police say hours earlier he was drinking with his Thai girlfriend in a bar when Aldhouse picked a fight with him. Both are believed to have been students of Muay Thai, or Thai Kickboxing. According to eyewitnesses Longfellow overpowered the British man, which apparently humiliated him in front of everyone in the bar, which he regularly drank at.
