Cruz, Laguna, for raping a mentally ill woman, according to police.The victim was home alone past 9 p.m. in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan when suspect Noel Villarin, 22, sneaked into her room and allegedly started raping her.The victim’s mother caught the suspect naked beside the victim when she returned home from a wake.Marvin Saro, Sta. Cruz police chief, said the mother quickly called for police help. The suspect did not attempt to escape, said Saro.Villarin, who lived nearby, worked as the family’s house help. Police said Villarin was drunk that evening.A cousin of Villarin had been arrested earlier for the attempted rape of the victim.Yes, my friends..... Truth really is stranger than fiction.
