Mike S Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 IMHO .......the Filipina is singled out do to the slave-trade which is rampart here in the Phils ...... a great many of the girls are being taken advantage of by being promised high paying jobs if they will just hop on a plane with out work visas and go to these countries ....... illegal ... yes ... but try telling someone who has struggled all their life just to get by that they have to go through proper channels and it is like taking bread from a starving child ....... As they can go anywhere on their passport to the Asia Pact countries ...... I'm sure some of the girls may know what is going on and what is to be expected of them as many of their friends that have already done it have told them what is behind these offers ...... but the lure of big money can sometimes be to much ........ And so she is singled out especially if she is traveling alone ...... recently in Clark they caught 80 some girls over a two week period trying to leave with no real good explanation or contact in the country they were going to ..... but just think how many actually slip through ...... these girls were caught because someone squealed and turned in the guys behind the illegal activity ...... I know a Filipina who used to take trips to Hong Kong and freelance for the length of her visa. Then before the visa ran out she'd get on a plane and make a trip to Singapore and do some more freelancing. Then before that visa ran out she'd fly back to Cebu and live off her earnings.And then when her money ran out she'd do the whole thing over again.But now she's a little older and not as good looking and she was lucky enough to snag herself a Singapore husband and lives full time down there now.Anyway you know I'm pretty sure there's others still playing this game...
