Yes there are some trash foreigners here, but they could never do the bad things without the help or guidance of the locals, so who is really to blame, and why can't they say that it is only a small percentage of all foreigners who commit these crimes? I can see things here getting pretty uncomfortable for foreigners in the future if this atmosphere of hatred and blame continues. Online child pornography is a real threat in Cebu with Cordova town in Mactan island having the highest incidence of sex trafficking of minors.Cordova was the venue of yesterday’s celebration of International Women’s Day.Lawyer Noemi Truya-Abarientos, spokesperson of the Children’s Legal Bureau (CBL), said Cordova was chosen the venue of their forum due to the “prevelance” of the problem there.Online child pornography—which involves the use of the Internet, video cameras and luring children to pose nude— is a trend in the province and the rest of the country.“(Some) foreigners think that they will go unpunished. With the advent of technology, it is now easy to view naked children online. And it is always done with the cooperation of local residents who get the victims,” Abarientos said.Republic Act 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 was approved last November but local officials lack political will to enforce it, she said.She said “most” of the suspects involved in human trafficking and child pornography are foreigners. Art2ro Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Cebu is a tourist haven for the rich tourists and somewhat well to do retirees, besides Boracay, Palawan and Discovery Bay Cebu with the lavish accommodations where the majority of foreigners seem to flock in droves! And that's the main reason we read in the news media of all the crimes that are committed day in and day out, year after year in those fancy resort areas of the Philippines! In Manila and provinces, it's usually the locals that hit the front page news with their petty crimes, sandals and family squabbles! She said “most” of the suspects involved in human trafficking and child pornography are foreigners. I have to agree that the online trafficking of pornography is a problem involving foreigners. I suspect that is because the market they sell to is mainly foreigners.However, the local lads who come door to door selling porn to local girls like my wife have nothing to do with foreigners. Strange as it sounds to western ears, most of the girls I have met here like porn more than guys do and yes, locals do go door to door selling it but you have to ask for it as I doubt it is legal.
