I would think that this guy would be deported from the Philippines for being an undesirable alien even if Australian authority's dont extradite him.Wanted man living well in Manila A notorious bank robber and escapee once described as Australia's most wanted man has been discovered living a life of luxury in the Philippines and has pledged to put his criminal lifestyle behind him.An investigation by The Weekend West has found Brett Ronald Maston - who is wanted by WA Police - living in Manila where he last week married his long-time girlfriend Rissa in a spectacular and lavish ceremony.Mrs Maston said the couple celebrated the birth of their son Brett Junior Ronald Maston eight weeks ago and are now living a quiet life in the Philippines."We have put all that (Maston's background) behind us," Mrs Maston said.Warrants for Maston's arrest were issued after he failed to appear in a Perth court in March and April last year on charges of unlawful possession of guns, ammunition and more than $90,000 cash.Last month, concerned Manila residents claimed the 45-year-old had been involved in a violent exchange at a local bar. Mrs Maston said she knew nothing about the claims. She said her husband, who she met through a mutual friend about five years ago, was happy and healthy and described her wedding as "beautiful".Videos published online show an elaborate affair that included fireworks at sunset and live bands at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza."We're actually doing nothing at the moment but we are looking at some opportunities in the green power industry," Mrs Maston said."Brett's life that he lived before, it's not like that now."He and I have definitely put that whole life behind us and we are living here very quietly with our baby."None of the background has anything to do with the life we live now."It's very nice, it's good for Brett and we are very happy."Maston did not speak directly to The Weekend West but Mrs Maston said her husband felt remorse for his crimes, particularly for his victims. She said that if Maston could turn back the clock, he would choose to live the life he now leads rather than the life he once led.A "save the date" video tells a tale of Maston's blossoming relationship with his lover.Footage shows the couple meeting at a bar and features images of Maston relaxing in a pool, sipping wine and working out in a gym before taking a shower where his distinct "Australias most wanted" tattoo across his upper back is clearly on display. That tattoo may be a reference to almost four months he spent on the run in 1995 after his then girlfriend Christine Evagora produced a shotgun and threatened guards, staff and patients in a waiting room at Fremantle Hospital, where he had been taken after faking a suicide attempt. The brazen escape earned Maston and Evagora the moniker "Bonnie and Clyde" and a spot at the top of Australia's most wanted list. While on the run, Maston was involved in a Melbourne hotel robbery during which a security guard was shot dead.Maston was recaptured in Perth in December 1995 and sentenced to 14½ years jail for the Perth robbery spree he committed before the escape from hospital. He was later sentenced for his role in the Melbourne robbery but was never prosecuted over the death of the guard.Despite his reputation and lengthy criminal record, Maston may never be extradited from the Philippines because the charges he is facing in WA are relatively minor. International extraditions can cost tens of thousands of dollars and can take months or years to process as they involve State, Federal and international government departments.WA Police would not comment this week on whether they would seek Maston's extradition."People who believed that by travelling overseas they will escape accountability for their actions are mistaken," Det-Insp. Alan Morton said."When they return to Australia, they will be held accountable for anything that is outstanding."While in jail over the robberies, Maston used a mobile phone that was smuggled in to plan the kidnapping of a fellow inmate's wife in a bid to pressure the drug dealer to divulge the location of a suspected heroin stash.Maston was arrested in 2006 after he breached his parole conditions by failing a urine test.Within months of his release from jail in 2008, Maston was facing the fresh charges over unlawful possession of cash.post-1-0-54848500-1300519712_thumb.jpghttp://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/wa/9038563/wanted-man-living-well-in-manila/

"Wanted Man living well in Manila"If I was an "official" who could benefit from this man's wealth, I would certainly want him to remain in Manilafor my monthly under the table deals. This "undesirable" just became desirable....he, he. Too bad about thatsecurity guard that he shot back in Australia. This most wanted man better watch his back while living in PI.Jake
