What is up with the roosters here, crowing at 3 am or 11pm and every where in between. Many years ago when my parents had chickens and roosters they were asleep after dark so why do they crow at anytime here?:AddEmoticons04230:

And I thought for sure you were talking about a tent that was keeping you up. :AddEmoticons04230: Yes that has been a question that I have had for a long time, and my only guess was that it gets dark early, so those little bastards do not know what time it is. In the US they only crow at day break, but farms are far apart there so they do not hear each other, but here they are close to each other, so I guess once one starts, then the rest chime in. My solution for you is turn on the aircon and close the windows and doors because we do not hear them in our unit. One time in the provinces when I could not sleep because of all the noise, I joked that they should tape the beak closed, well it was a joke, but they took me serious, so I got a great nights sleep that night only to find the rooster gone in the morning. Seems he was not happy about the tape on his beak and ran away, but they found him a few blocks away trying to get the tape off his beak by rubbing it on a tree. Needless to say I did not get anymore good nights sleep after that because I felt bad for the poor rooster, and thus the reason we picked to live in a condo.

Or tell a Philippines rooster. "Theres a Kano up there, theres a Kano up there, theres a Kano in town, tell all the chicks to look out, because they eat a lot, so some of our mates will surely become food, Hide the females." hystery.gif

Interestingly enough, you're right on the money Jim! You've been around the block (multiple island adventures)and your comments are all worth reading. By the way, your website pops with vivid colorful photos. Thank you -- Jake

th_thholysheep.gifwt-hell.gifas-if.gifNo! Not me! If I ever hear a rooster crow again or any noisy farm animals that disturbs my peace, I'll put an anonymous hit contract out on it with a huge reward! wasntme.gifmocking.gif
