What a shame that those that served and died are not being taken care of. Anyone heard of this before? Most of the grave markers in the Philippines cemetery have been half-buried for 20 years Clark Veterans Cemetery was consigned to oblivion in 1991, when Mount Pinatubo's gigantic eruption forced the U.S. to abandon the sprawling air base surrounding it. Retired U.S. soldiers, Marines and sailors volunteer to keep watch, relying on donations to try to maintain the grounds, but they lament that they're short on funds to fix things, and that Washington is unwilling to help."It's the veterans' cemetery that America forgot," Vietnam War veteran and ex-Navy officer Robert Chesko said. The complete sad story HEREpost-40-0-61773200-1309700648_thumb.jpg

Thanks Kuya for paying tribute to the forgotten 8600 American and Filipino warriors buried in that cemetery which was neglected by both governments. May they continue to rest in peace.Respectfully -- Jake

it is ashame that this cemetery has fallen in a bad condition.it is up to the american community to help if your able ,why not help the VFW out, or contact 1 of the forum members who live in the clark area, I am sure they could use some extra assistance,i found the link for them & for the cemetery from their web site:It is only because of the continuing generosity of many people from around the world that support our work that we are able to maintain the cemetery. We do not receive any kind of federal funding or other government support. http://www.vfwpost2485.com/index.htmhttp://www.vfwpost2485.com/cemetery.htmhttp://www.vfwpost2485.com/clarkcem.htm
